About The Right To The City Alliance (RTTC)
Right to the City Alliance (RTTC) emerged in 2007 with a strong and powerful vision to 1) halt the displacement of low-income people, Black, Indigenous, and people of color, LGBTQ communities, and youth of color, and 2) protect and expand affordable housing in tandem with a broader movement to build democratic and just healthy communities for the 21st century. Since its inception, RTTC has quickly grown to encompass over 90 community-based racial, economic, gender, and environmental justice organizations located in 26 states and 45 cities. Representing true grassroots power and leadership of the most impacted, RTTC’s member organizations weave together local on-the-ground organizing, policy, and advocacy campaigns to build a robust and unstoppable national movement for inclusive, healthy housing and community development.

Position Summary
The RTTC Senior Organizer for Resource Development will co-lead resource support for RTTC members, support funder/donor strategies, and develop and guide systems for tracking grants and funder/donor relationships for RTTC. This role will support resource organizing strategy and implementation across the organization, our members, and the movement ecosystem. We are looking for someone to join our energetic, visionary and solutions-oriented national staff team to help build the powerful movement we need to win the right to the city and liberation for our people. The ideal candidate will be someone who is multifaceted, able to adapt to changing conditions, believes deeply in self-determination and community power, and who embodies a commitment to both personal and systemic transformation.
1. Resource Organizing: Strategies & Systems (30%)
- Manage and maintain funder & donor relationships through relationship-building, data management and tracking
- Scheduling meetings
- Tracking funder updates and news
- Maintaining notes from one-to-one conversations and tracking next steps
- Maintaining and updating department data management systems (EveryAction, Google Sheets, Budget Management)
- Cultivating 1:1 relationships with prospective donors/funders
- Coordinate and manage logistics for funder and donor briefings, convenings and conferences
- Lead logistics, coordination and workplanning for in-person donor and funder events
- Lead technical support for virtual events (registration and logistics),
- Support with programing and follow-up steps
2. Member Resourcing and Support (15%)
- Co-lead monthly meetings with RTTC’s Resource Redistribution and Development Member Committee, with the Associate Director of Resource Development
- Co-facilitate meetings
- Prepare agendas
- Provide 1:1 support to member organizations as needed (funder and donor prospecting or grassroots fundraising)
- Support Associate Director of Resource Development with RTTC’s member-led Regranting and Redistribution Program
- Attend quarterly Homes for All Leaders Assembly meetings
- Coordinate member-tracking and data collection as it relates to resource organizing
3. Funder and Donor Communications (C3 and C4) (20%)
- Lead and implement funder/donor-facing communications strategy
- Manage and maintain EveryAction database
- Support with developing funder-focused written materials templates
- Coordination with Communications Department
4. Grassroots Fundraising Program (20%)
- Guide the design, development and implementation of a grassroots fundraising program (via a sustainer-based campaign)
- Engage with members and consultants to co-develop and launch program
5. Work Planning (5%), Staff Development & Support (5%) and Political and Organizational Leadership (5%)
Common Expectations for all positions:
- RTTC intentionally builds collaborative and transformative culture through:
- Organizational participation: (Approx. 10% of time) team planning, staff meetings and trainings, national convenings, collaborative projects across teams, and HR/administrative tasks common to all positions.
- Evolution of the work: Areas of work may change over time based on organization and movement needs, and always in consultation with the organizer.
- Transformative Praxis: Participate in RTTC’s transformative justice program to align our practice with our values and principles. Build staff unity and cohesion, and principled struggle amongst all team/staff members.
- Location & Travel: Location is negotiable. RTTC has concentrations of staff in the following areas: Philly, Atlanta, Boston, Brooklyn (physical office), and the SF Bay Area. Travel is required; frequency and duration of travel is negotiable. Travel is generally required for all RTTC staff. On average, this position will be expected to travel once every other month, year round, for about 3-5 days for each trip.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in development/fundraising/resource organizing, with at least 2 years in grassroots fundraising
- At least 4 years of experience with communications and developing written/digital materials for a wide variety of audiences
- Prefer 2-4 years experience in grassroots organizing and/or the housing justice sector
- Prefer 2-4 years of research, policy analysis, or campaign development experience
Position-specific skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including facilitating meetings, conflict resolution, maintaining composure and exhibiting leadership during challenging discussions, developing agendas, leading meetings, supporting governance and decision making processes
- Excellent written, and digital communications skills, including developing communications strategies and written materials for funder and donor audiences, members, and the public
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to emergent needs of the team, department, organization and alliance
- Highly detail oriented while also being able to hold strategy and systems-level thinking
- Comfortable communicating with funder and donor audiences
- Brings a grounded assessment of political, economic, and social conditions and how they relate and inform resource organizing strategies, and a curiosity to develop and deepen an understanding of these conditions
- Proactive leadership and communication
- Familiarity with data management systems and tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in campaign and/or coalition-based contexts
- Experience working across c3/c4 structures
- Ability to write and speak a second language, preferably Spanish
- General Requirements

- Experience and familiarity with housing justice, gentrification, displacement and anti-eviction work and/or grassroots base-building organizations and transformative organizing
- Experience in multi-racial, multicultural settings
- Knowledge of common computer applications: MS Office, Google docs, Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, Mac environment, and Zoom video tele-conferencing systems
- Access to reliable internet, phone and remote office arrangements. RTTC provides for costs of home offices.
Salary and Benefits
This is a Full Time, Exempt position. The salary range starts at $107,000 (hourly equivalent $51.44 per hour). Compensation commensurate with experience and competitive with our sector.
